Girls Trip!

Nothing is better than spending quality time with your girls. I have shared over 15 years of friendship with the most amazing women and we are all looking forward to our upcoming vacation to Jamaica that is just a few weeks away! This will be our first trip together and for some of us, the first time traveling abroad. I am looking forward to some sun, sand and a rum punch in my hand!

Because I am the crafty one, of course I had to put together some goodies for our crew. I will be sharing each of the projects and perhaps you will want to get together with your besties and try these out.

Leather Passport Holder

There is nothing more exciting than getting your first passport, so what better way to show it off than with a personalized leather passport holder. I used this tutorial for inspiration and when I found this metallic leather at my local leather store, I knew it would be perfect for this project. Vinyl is a great alternative if you choose not to use leather just choose a lightweight for your sewing machine.

Nothing goes to waste in my studio so this project was a great way to use fabric remnants. I used this Ankara print fabric that coordinated well with the leather. Choose any fabric you like for the lining.

This neon light inspired font was fun to work with and I like the contrast in textures between the matte white lettering and metallic finish of the leather. Tip: Use low heat when applying your heat transfer vinyl and don't forget your pressing cloth so you don't damage the leather. It's a good idea to do a test before you try this on your final project.

If you create any of these projects please share! I would love to see your creativity at work! If you use Instagram please use the hashtag #twotwistedsistahsDIY. Feel free to comment below with any questions you may have about this project.
